In the light of more stringent Fair Work Act guidelines and making it a no-brainer when it comes to CareerHub universities approving your jobs, whether you do this directly or engage an agency to do this on your organisation’s behalf, this came to our attention recently when the latter occurred:
- First of all, the employer was a long-standing CareerHub Central user who engaged a third party to manage their graduate recruitment advertising. The agency overlooked their CareerHub Central history so set up a new entity therefore creating a duplicate. The good news is that employers, if they are already registered on CareerHub Central, will flag as a duplicate if you’re trying to set up another organisation with the same or similar name. The simple solution is to call us on 1300 852 112 if you’re unsure and we’ll be able to confirm over the phone.
- Secondly, when the agency did manage to complete setting up their client as a duplicate employer, they were then prompted to add a Primary Contact. Primary Contacts are essential to the sense-checking and governance of how CareerHub works. If a problem or query should arise in conjunction with your job postings, each university careers office needs a named contact point to refer to and resolve issues, lest you risk your job not being approved and posted.
Additionally, please also be aware that you need to state clear remuneration amounts or, at least, remuneration terms. This can be a stumbling block for graduate employers who may wish to remunerate at or post-interview but can be worked around, as long as you have a dialogue with any universities who may raise it. And certainly stating ‘nil’ remuneration is likely to be a stumbling block not only at CareerHub Central approval stage (where we review all jobs in the first instance) but is going down the right path not to get your job posted, as we saw last week when an overseas not for profit agency tried this approach.
CareerHub and CareerHub Central works hand in hand with Australia’s universities so we are across their requirements. Visit CareerHub FAQs or call us on 1300 852 112 if you’re unsure of the best way to manage your CareerHub Central client manager or employer account or how best to post jobs for immediate approval and greater reach.
